ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR THE FUTURE

ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR THE FUTURE

Tuinbouw Jongeren Westland and members of Glastuinbouw Westland met at KUBO in Monster on Monday 27 June to exchange views on the future of greenhouse horticulture. The evening was opened by the chairman and presenter Rob Veenman and immediately began interactively. The entrepreneurs present were asked if and how they look to the future. Then Robin Berendse of Yeald took us along in their vision of the future. Young and old talked together.

The world population is growing exponentially. Growth that exhausts the earth. Energy sources are drying up, water is becoming increasingly scarce. At the same time, there is an increasing need for food safety, for reducing CO2 emissions and for locally produced products. KUBO plays a major role in this and Reinier van Herel and Thomas Wennekers of KUBO gave their vision on entrepreneurship of the future worldwide. Besides the vision, Reinier and Thomas introduced the guests to the Full Service Grow Concept. A concept in which several services are offered to make the running of the greenhouse easier and to increase the return on investment.

After the introductions and visions of KUBO and YEALD, a lower house was set up and propositions were presented to agree or disagree with. The attendees got moving and made a well-considered choice of side. Young people and the established order could express their ideas and vision of greenhouse horticulture in the future. Romy, 25 years old and working at a pot plant nursery, made it clear: COOPERATION will get you further!
