Strawberry cultivation in its own trial greenhouses

At KUBO, we have two dedicated test greenhouses where we directly trial and develop new cultivation methods, innovations, and strategies in practice

Strawberry cultivation in its own trial greenhouses

For more than a year, KUBO has been testing in its trial greenhouse how strawberry production can be scaled up in an Ultra-Clima greenhouse, combined with our emission-free CO₂ dosing strategy. The results are already attracting international interest: we are currently implementing two large-scale projects with this system, in Canada and Saudi Arabia.

Test centers as a source of knowledge
KUBO operates two trial greenhouses where new cultivation methods, innovations, and strategies are tested in practice. This allows us to show growers which solutions are truly valuable and how they align with specific market conditions. Whether it’s strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, or other crops, the insights from our test centers are directly applicable to commercial cultivation worldwide.

Practical insights
The aim of the strawberry trial is not to put the technology itself at the center, but to develop knowledge that helps growers improve their production. This includes higher yields, better product quality, testing different varieties and substrate types, and developing robust cultivation strategies under diverse climate conditions.

Understanding growers’ challenges
A major challenge for growers worldwide is the availability of strong, healthy young plants. Transport often limits quality, with direct consequences for yield. By thoroughly researching this process ourselves, KUBO not only deepens its knowledge but also demonstrates awareness of the daily reality of growers.

Knowledge partner in sustainable horticulture
The added value of KUBO’s trial greenhouses lies in the combination of innovation and customer focus. We don’t just test technologies but also translate insights into concrete advice that enables growers worldwide to achieve better results. From more efficient use of water and energy to higher yields and better product quality, the impact is tangible.

With its own trial greenhouses, KUBO strengthens its role as a knowledge partner and innovator in international horticulture. By continuously conducting research and sharing knowledge, we actively contribute to the sustainability of the sector. Innovation, sustainability, and knowledge sharing are central to this effort.
