Trade mission to Morocco

This week, our colleagues Said and Serge joined a trade mission to Morocco, organised by RVO Netherlands!

Morocco offers significant opportunities for international cooperation and trade, but has been struggling with the effects of climate change in recent years. The country is confronted with the most severe drought in four decades, which has significant implications for agricultural production. For the Moroccan government, water supply is at the top of the priority list.

The mission is led by Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. She stresses the importance of cooperation and trade between our countries.

There are opportunities for climate smart agriculture, as Morocco needs to meet increasing food demand and adapt to changing climate conditions. Dutch innovative knowledge, services and products are well suited to take on these challenges in Morocco, especially in the region around Agadir, which is developing into a major centre for Dutch horticultural technology and expertise.

The mission has positive meetings where ideas are shared and possible partnerships are discussed. We plan to continue these discussions and contribute to the growth of trade relations between the Netherlands and Morocco.
