The Challenge

Operating in regions with extreme heat—where temperatures frequently exceed 40°C—Wholesum faced critical obstacles in maintaining organic crop production throughout the year. Traditional greenhouse solutions such as pad and fan systems and open structures failed to provide the precise climate management and energy efficiency necessary for organic certification and reliable yields. Furthermore, fluctuating gas supply and persistent pest pressures threatened both sustainability efforts and crop health. Meeting organic standards in these demanding conditions required an advanced, resilient approach to greenhouse cultivation.

The Solution

Wholesum explored multiple options to address their climate and sustainability challenges but found that only the Ultra-Clima® greenhouse, engineered by KUBO, offered the technical capabilities required for robust, year-round organic cultivation. The positive-pressure, semi-closed design provided precise climate control, substantial energy savings, and effective pest exclusion. The Results

Wholesum's adoption of Ultra-Clima® greenhouses transformed their operational capabilities. The cultivated area expanded from an initial 2.5 hectares to 24 hectares across both the US and Mexico, demonstrating both scalability and reliability.
